The information in this 19-minute video had a huge impact on us here at KTKC. From TED.com:
Activist and fundraiser Dan Pallotta calls out the double standard that drives our broken relationship to charities. Too many nonprofits, he says, are rewarded for how little they spend — not for what they get done. Instead of equating frugality with morality, he asks us to start rewarding charities for their big goals and big accomplishments (even if that comes with big expenses). In this bold talk, he says: Let’s change the way we think about changing the world.
Kilted to Kick Cancer is dedicated to raising awareness. In its partnership with prevention-minded organizations like BlueCure, we are also dedicated to educating the masses about the best ways to avoid cancer in the first place. The fact of the matter is those efforts are less successful without a fundraising arm. Watch this video and ask yourself a question: am I more concerned about overhead or results?
